UP electricity bill calculator 2026-27
Estimate the energy and fixed charges on a home (LMV-1) electricity bill in Uttar Pradesh, slab by slab, using the rates UPERC approved for FY 2026-27.
Estimated monthly charges
₹0
Energy charge + fixed charge, before duty, surcharges, FPPAS, arrears and rebates.
How the bill is worked out
Uttar Pradesh charges home electricity in slabs: the first units are charged at the lowest rate and only the units above each limit pay the higher rate. A fixed charge is added for every kW of load, whether you use any electricity or not. This calculator uses the "tariff payable" column of the UPPCL FY 2026-27 rate notice (after subsidy), for DVVNL, MVVNL, PVVNL, PuVVNL and KESCO consumers.
| Connection | Energy charge per unit | Fixed charge |
|---|---|---|
| Domestic, metered | ₹5.50 up to 150 units; ₹6.00 for 151-300; ₹6.50 above 300 | ₹110 per kW per month |
| Rural schedule, metered | ₹3.35 up to 100; ₹3.85 for 101-150; ₹5.00 for 151-300; ₹5.50 above 300 | ₹90 per kW per month |
| Lifeline (1 kW, up to 100 units) | ₹3.00 | ₹50 per kW per month |
What this estimate leaves out
- Electricity duty, regulatory surcharge and taxes, which are added on top of these rates.
- The fuel and power purchase adjustment surcharge (FPPAS), which UPERC's tariff order requires to be shown on your monthly bill.
- Arrears, late-payment charges and the rebate for paying on time.
- Billable demand rules: with a demand-recording meter, the fixed charge uses the higher of your recorded maximum demand and 75% of contracted load.
So your actual bill will usually be higher than this estimate. Use it to check the energy-charge lines on your bill and to see what saving units is worth. If a line on your bill does not match, ask your distribution company for a written explanation.
